OLD POEM FROM 17TH CENTURY

Hope, oh! thou wretched soul, Home, home and be valliant!
Only wait then, wait, and surely thou shalt see the sun of lovely Joy.

Up! Up! and give thy sorrow and all thy cares good-night;

And all that grieves and saddens thy heart be put to flight.

Not thou thyself art ruler when all things must obey,

But God is Lord decreeing--all follows in His way.

And even though all Devils came and opposed his will

There were no cause for doubting, God will be steadfast still.

What He has undertaken, All His divine decree--

Exactly as He ordered at last shall all things be.

REMEMBER TO PRAY

Father let my voice be heard
Not in anger rashly stirred.
Bless thy children whom I meet,
Let they Gospel keep them sweet,
As I travel forth each day,
Be thou with me all the way.
Good to others let me do;
Virture, preace, and joy persue.

WHAT IN THE WORLD ???

If you want to know "What in the world" is going on....one good way to find out is to ask Don. He keeps up on the news daily in the newspaper; watches the news, talk shows, debates, etc. on TV and can answer about any question you ask! He also reads Botton Line faithfully and has just finished a great book called Presidents and Prophets ! And the Book of Mormon? How about 12 times or more! Yes! Keep on reading, Don. You are admired.

HADASHA AND THE GILDED CHAMBER

A couple of weeks ago I gave the ladies of LeLibre a book report called The Gilded Chamber. It was about Hadasha (Ester from the Bible) who was snatched away from her cousin's home and taken by force to the harem of the Persian King, Xerxes. She was terrifed that she would be taken to the soldiers in the barracks and so when being interviewed by the eunuch in charge of the harem (whom she thought at first was the king) she uttered words that caused him to think she had been sent by the Goddess Ishtar. He was so taken with her that he set her apart from the other concubines and girls who had been taken and trained her over the next year on how to please the king. When a year passed and the king called for her she was dressed as Ishtar herself and following Hegai's instructions she became the king's favorite and was made queen. Read the book of Ester in case you can't remember her story and see what she did to save her people from destruction!

LEARNING TO BLOG

While Don is struggling to set up his portable computer - with hours and hours of help from Darryl, I am struggling to figure this blogging thing out! Gonna try to add a picture of Don and I now. Who can guess where the picture will go??? Angie! I need you! You must be out looking for an apartment!
Have been fighting with this blog site - trying to figure it out (like how to do things) and so am experimenting again. Let's see what happens this time.

If it works out I will have a picture of Don, Angie and Wanda standing in front of the Mormon Battalion Monument in downtown Tucson!

Tripping Off To Tucson

February found Don and I off to Tucson via Blanding. We stopped there to (a) check on the house (took us half an hour to get into it because the renter had left four feet of snow on the driveway and grass) (b) keep an appointment with the income tax man and hand him our completed tax information (Don couldn't find the bag he put it in so we had to cancel that appointment till March 20th and (c) have a game of hand and foot with Joe and Marilyn (we did and the guys won - bummer.)
On to Pheonix where we stayed overnight with Bob and Nancy (great visit) and then on to Tucson for five nights with Angie and Richie (by four days we smelled like fish and they were happy to see us go!) Richie gave the best Gospel Doctrine lesson I've EVER heard. Great teacher. Angie cooked the best pork roast I ever ate (get her receipe). We saw Kartchner Caves (pretty awesome) and had the best 'eat-out' dinner ever at the Texas Steak House. Angie knew how to make a reservation there and we walked in with 150 people waiting and zipped right past them. She's awesome.
While at their house I made four necklaces that are gorgeous and we visited old town Tucson where poor Great Grandfather Hunt's fingers were covered with red and orange condums. The art gallery and down town Tucson are wonderful! So is the Mexican food.
